‘From local dairy factory to full supply chain control and international sales of own brands'
The involvement of PMH Investments in Ausnutria Hyproca began in 1994. In 1996, the dairy factory De Vechtstreek in Ommen was acquired. The company continued under the name Hyproca Dairy. Together with the other shareholders and management, PMH Investments developed the vision for the dairy company with full control over the supply chain – from raw milk to the end product. In the years following investment, this vision has been realized through an active buy & build strategy. The acquisition of dairy factories Lypack and Lyempf (formerly owned by Nutricia), dairy wholesaler HB Food Group, private label brand Neolac, and dairy trade company Farmel are part of this strategy, among others. Also, in addition to producing for a diverse portfolio of large international customers, the decision was made to start producing infant formula under its own brands. This was done with a focus on the niches of goat milk (Kabrita) and organic cow milk (Neolac).
In 2011 the strategic cooperation with, and sale of a partial interest to, the stock market-listed Chinese dairy company Ausnutria Dairy Corporation resulted in the formation of Ausnutria Hyproca. This generated additional expansion capital and access to a strong distribution network in China. With excellence in quality and expansion of capacity as priorities, the construction of a new state-of-the-art production location was started in Heerenveen in 2013. A conversion of shares in 2015 resulted in 'one company'. PMH Investments has played an active role in the realization of the share conversion, the formation of one organization, and the initiation to integrate the different entities into one group.
Now the company has entered a new phase. In this phase, sales in China and worldwide will be expanded, the own brands will be developed further, and additional acquisitions will take place in order to further strengthen the supply chain. This, with the aim of growing into a medium-sized dairy company and an international niche player in dairy-based food products.
